153 Hat Inspired by John 21:11

John 21:1–14

After this, Jesus appeared again to His disciples by the Sea of Galilee. This is what happened:

Simon Peter, Thomas, Nathanael, James, John, and two other disciples were together.

Peter said, "I'm going fishing."

The others answered, "We'll go with you."

So they went out in the boat, but all night long they caught nothing.

Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples didn't realize it was Him.

Jesus called to them,

"Friends, have you caught any fish?"

They answered,

"No."

He said,

"Throw your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some."

So they did.

Suddenly, they caught so many fish that they couldn't pull the net back into the boat.

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter,

"It is the Lord!"

As soon as Peter heard that, he put on his outer garment and jumped into the water to swim to Jesus.

The other disciples followed in the boat, pulling the net full of fish. They were only about one hundred yards from shore.

When they got to land, they saw a charcoal fire with fish cooking on it, and there was bread.

Jesus said,

"Bring some of the fish you have just caught."

Simon Peter went aboard and pulled the net onto the shore.

It was full of large fish

153 of them.

Even with so many fish, the net did not tear.

Then Jesus said,

"Come and have breakfast."

None of the disciples dared ask Him who He was, because they knew it was the Lord.

Jesus came, took the bread, and gave it to them. He did the same with the fish.

This was the third time Jesus appeared to His disciples after He had risen from the dead.
